We were pioneers in Castilla-La Mancha in obtaining clean morado garlic for planting and this technique, together with the development of improvement programs, allows us to offer out members the best garlic for planting every year.
First of all, in the Cooperative´s laboratory, we select the best heads of each type and with the support of the "in vitro" culture technique of meristems we suppress the main pathogens, mainly viruses, which cannot be eliminated with conventional treatments.
Once the purpose of eliminating the main pest and diseases in the laboratory has been achieved, it is necessary to protect the garlic in the first generations by cultivating it under an anti-insect net.
To guarantee the health of the cultivation process, our technical and field staff carry out rigorous control throughout the cycle.
More than 20 years ago we began with the selection of our seeding materials. During all this time we have developed different improvement programs that have allowed us to register new varieties. We currently continue this process with spring and morado garlic.
Having our own healthy varieties, both new and traditional, assures our cooperative members the quality and quantity of their harvest will be significantly increased compared to the use of sowing materials that are not subject to this new production concept.
